The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering (DIII, in Italian "Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione") has a cultural mission that has now taken on a central role in the scientific/technological and socio-economic progress of all contemporary societies. For this reason the DIII has the role of being an engine for training, innovation and technology transfer in the field of engineering, responding to today's challenges and opportunities.
Engineering is the discipline more suitable to "contamination", to design and carry out interdisciplinary activities. In fact, the engineer retains the ideal of Greek "techne", in which knowing how to do represents a form of knowledge available to change what surrounds people. For this reason, the DIII aims to be a research and training centre open to other disciplines and in close contact with companies, the productive world and society. Therefore, a welcome to the visitors of our website, with the invitation to contact our teachers and researchers to deepen the themes and the proposed training packages.
Here is a portrait of the Department through the voice of the Director, Riccardo Bellazzi: teaching, training, research and career opportunities.
