Center for Health Technology – CHT (director Prof. Giovanni Magenes)

The Center for Health Technology aims to provide new technological solutions to solve problems in the field of health, from laboratory to patient bed, through interdisciplinary research and the integration of basic sciences with medicine, pharmacology and engineering. It also provides skills to study legal and ethical issues related to the application of science and technology to people and society as a whole.

 

Inter-departmental Center of the History of Electrical Technology – CIRSTE (director Prof. Paolo Di Barba)

The CIRSTE was established in 1998 with the aim of studying the evolution of all aspects of electrical technology. It collects and enhances the technical heritage, promotes the understanding of the history of electrical technology, supports the teaching of the history of electrical technology. The other departments of the university that have joined the Research Center are: the Physics Department "A. Volta" and the Humanities Department. The respective representatives join the Scientific Technical Committee, the body that oversees the activities of CIRSTE.

 

Inter-departmental Research Center in Advanced Materials and Devices – MADE (director Prof. Maddalena Patrini)

The MADE joins researchers of the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering and Drug Science. MADE aims to promote and support interdisciplinary research activities on innovative materials and devices in the following research fields: New technologies, synthesis and characterization methods, Electronics and Photonics, Energy and Environment, Soft Matter, Biomaterials, Materials for nanomedicine and Micro- and nano-functional materials.

 

University Language Center – CLA

CLA employs linguistic experts from 7 different languages, a self-study laboratory and a media library; it is responsible for the language assessment test for candidates for the Erasmus+ call; it is authorized to issue international foreign language certifications; it organizes language courses and the examination of verification of knowledge of the Italian language for non-EU students residing abroad.

 

International Center of Cooperation for Development – CICOPS

Founded in 1984, the first in Italy, CICOPS aims to coordinate international cooperation projects and participate in inter-university initiatives, organize lectures and seminars on the theme of international cooperation and offer scholarships to researchers from developing countries. All activities promoted by CICOPS aim to contribute to the capacity building process of the partner countries and to foster the emergence of skills and professionalism aimed at stimulating human development and local capabilities.
